squiggle of light right over the car in the fog

A "squiggle" of light lit up the car and surrounding area in heavy rain and fog for about 1.5 seconds. It was hard to see because of the clouds and fog but was very bright. It was directly over the car and was visible through the skylight. My wife and daughter were in the car.
