Fireball seen behind trees moving vertically then up into the sky

Riding bike SE bound, noticed a couple walking their dog that had stopped and were looking at the sky.

Looked at an open field with 3 tall fir trees in it approx. 200 yards away and saw tree glowing orange/red. Object then moved to the right horizontally, stayed there (behind tree again)for a few seconds then it went straight up into the sky at a very high rate of speed and disappeared into the clouds.

The object was glowing and made no sound.
