| Bright light sundenly vanished when telescope is trained on it. I was out looking at the stars with my telescope. I noticed a bright yellow-orange object in the south east sky. I was very bright, maybe a magnitude of-1 or-2. I thought it might be Jupiter or Saturn? It did not appear to be moving. By the time I turned my telescope in the area and tried to center it in my finder scope, it vanished. It did not appear to look like landing lights from a plane either. The sky was totally clear at the time. Very unusual. I have been an ametuer astronomer for many years. |
