Slow moving gold coloured boomerang shaped craft

I was driving when I noticed a shape, something like a boomerang, just below the level of the moon. It was quite a distance away, as it was only moving on the horizon as much as the moon. The object was a gold-yellow colour, and 'pointing' upwards. As I drove along, checking it's progress, it moved slowly upwards, until it was about three 'moon lengths' above the moon.At this point I looked away, to see where I was driving, and when I looked back, it had disappeared. The whole incident took perhaps a quarter of an hour.
