Strange lights in Phoenix sky reappear in formation.

We were vacationing in Phoenix, Arizona and on Feb. 11, 2001 and saw 5 lights in formation high above the mountains. We were facing north. The lights were stationary for awhile, then one light moved rapidly to the left. Suddenly, there appeared another light with the remaining four. We could not determine what the lights were. At first we thought they were helecopters, but when one would suddenly appear, we knew it must be something else. The couple we were with, who lived in the area, had never seen the lights before, and were as baffeled as we were as to their origin.
