As far as I know it still could be a plane but planes don't set in the same place for so long.

High in the sky in a south east direction the object is flashing many different colors . At first I thought it was an airplane but it never moved. I went in my house to have dinner and after that I went back out side just to see if it was still there. The object was still in the sky about the same altitude but more westerly.
